The Lady in Black

Dressing in Black makes mornings just so much easier...just pick whatever black garments you have and throw em all together and somehow the magic always works :-D I guess the fact that now that mornings get darker and darker and colder outside does influence my dressing habits aka meaning I just want to get dressed in a heartbeat. And I am definitely not the kinda "I am putting together my outfit the evening before" person! So that's why recently I find myself always grabbing clothes from the black portion of my closet (which is the biggest) and totally neglecting whatever colorful stuff I still have in there because I am just too much of a lazy ass to think about color coordination and stuff like that :) Oh and I have to mention I loooove these new Zara Boots. I needed new ones after I practically worn out my flat shiny ones I bought about a year ago in Sweden at Dinsko...I must have some weird shaped legs because the soles of my shoes tend to wear of in a very one sided manner if you get what I mean...anyways, these ones are super fierce and comfy and stylewise very reminiscent of a pair you can find at ACNE at the moment, but I just couldn't/didn't want to splurge on the real deal so I went with the obvious choice, Zara. I JUST LOVE THESE SHOES!!!!

Ok, now I need to get dressed (in black I suppose) and then head off to work...

Black from H to T

What can I say...black is just the best color for getting dressed! And the least complicated one cuz it gives you all the freedom for going overboard on the accessorizing side. My shirts is actually from the H&M menswear section. I talked about it earlier how simple T-shirts are just so much better in the menswear department, quality/price ratio wise and this shirt/blouse is no exception. Plus I really dig menswear proportions, I think they often fit me better.

Just another crappy outfit post

 

I hate doing crappy outfit post like this just in front of my mirror but that's all I can give you now...I just don't have the time to go out on weekends searching for a nice location dragging my friends around and begging them to shoot my outfit...maybe the day will eventually come when I find more time to do this again but for now you have to bare with me :))

Where ur homies at?

 

Finally it is mine...the super duper fierce and ferosh Brian Lichtenberg "Homiés" Sweater. I've been dying to get my hands on it for ever with the sweater always being sold out on netaporter.com. So what to do? I just ordered it from Brian Lichtenberg's home page. I was already prepared to wait for this gem forever due to it getting stuck at customs and then having to pay shitloads of customs like I had to for my choies.com order but NAH!!! Got this one for just 79€ and no customs at all. The price on netaporter is 114€ I believe. Talk about (birthday) money well invested. Already know I am going to wear the shit out of this one...

An old friend

Today has been the first time in like forever that I made use of my beloved Cambridge Satchel again. I had it on my shelf as sort of decoration and even though I'd practically look at it every day it never came to me to actually use it ever since I got back from Sweden. Kinda stupid heh?! Anyways, today I decided to go for it and add some color to my typically rather bland and monochrome outfits and wearing the bag reminded me of how much I actually love it. It is super practical, I can fit in all my stuff and it just looks so cute. The only thing to keep in mind with bags like those is that they do not like bad weater, meaning rain or the very severe cold. I unfortunately had to experience the latter myself like 2 winters ago when temperatures very untypically fell 25 below zero degrees and the leather of my bag actually started cracking which is why - if looking closely - you can see the damage caused by that...stupid me! When I came home almost crying my mum was just looking at me like "..but honey, isn't it like common knowledge that true leather doesn't like ice cold weather?!" ...well it wasn't too me! Btw, tomorrow I start a new section on this Blog called "The Tuesday book club" so stay tuned for that :)

One of my fave Combos right now...if only the weather would allow me to wear it more often...it's been a total snoozefest ever since last weekend and I have the feeling summer is officially over and on vacation until 2014...someone has a tissue?! I think I might wanna burst to tears :-(

Ice Ice Baby

Oooooh eeeemmmm geeeeeee! It is sooo cold outside y'all. Like I knew temperatures were dropping but I felt like I was going from african summer to scandinavian mid-fall all in one day. Definitely not funny! And i totes regret I didn't wear tights today. Probably even better considering I am still struggling with a nasty cold thanks to excessive air conditioning. Anyhow, this means I will have to bring out my fall wardrobe and most importantly shop for nice sweaters. As a matter of fact I threw out all my nasty looking ones. Most of them were from H&M and I don't know what is up with them but for some reason everytime they bring out something knitted it looks like sh** once you've washed a couple of times (or in some cases even once is enough!). I was so fed up with non-fitting sweaters and faded colors that I've decided to give them away and in the future invest in a couple more high quality ones...heck I am even willing to bring them to dry cleaning as long as they come back as nice as they were when I made a purchase! I don't know but these days I am really fed up with this whole uber cheap wear once-throw out kinda shops and I find myself looking at stores like other stories or net a porter much more often! Do you guys have any recommendation for where to buy nice sweaters?

Ohhhh mein Gott! Es ist sooo abartigst kalt Leute. Ich wusste ja dass die Temperaturen sinken aber ich fühl mich grad als wär ich binnen eines Tages von Sahara Hitze zu schwedischem Herbst gewandert. Das war heut alles andere als lustig da ich mich - dummerweise - gegen Strumpfhosen und für ein nur knielanges Kleid entschieden hab was wohl der Fail des Tages war. Vor allem wenn man bedenkt dass ich seit Wochen eine fiese Erkältung mit mir rumschleppe die ich extrem übertriebenen Klimaanlagen zu verdanken hab. Wie dem auch sei, scheint so als müsste ich früher als erwartet in eine anständige Herbstgaderobe investieren. Oder sollte ich besser sagen Pullover. Ich habe diesen Sommer nämlich 95% meiner Pullis rausgeschmissen da die alle nicht mehr tragbar waren. Der Großteil war von H&M oder Zara und ich weiß nicht was bei denen los it aber jedes Mal wenn ich einen Pulli dort kauf sieht der binnen kürzester Zeit scheiße aus. Meistens verändert sich der Schnitt, bzw. die Größe (läuft ein/wird größer) und oftmals wird auch die Farbe richtig hässlich obwohl ich teureres Waschmittel kaufe...echt ärgerlich. Und da ich im Moment echt null Bock auf die "Einmal tragen dann wegwerfen" Attitude von Massenläden wie H&M oder Forever 21 habe, passierts mir in letzter Zeit viel öfter dass ich auf Seiten wie other stories oder netaporter surfe und nach qualitativ hochwertigeren Pullis suche. Dafür wär ich dann sogar bereit die zur Reinigung zu bringen wenn sie mir denn nur längerfristig erhalten bleiben :-D Zudem hoffe ich dass mir meine Omi wieder einen schönen Pulli strickt! Habt ihr abgesehen davon irgendwelche Empfehlungen wo man qualitativ hochwertigeres zu nicht exorbitant hohen Preisen kaufen kann?!

Last day of Summer?

Today was the last day - for now - that we're gonna have way beyond 30 degrees plus. Tomorrow the forecast predicts rain and colder temperatures which somehow I see as a nice change for once. However, I wonder if this means that summer weather and hot temperatures are officially over..? I mean, don't get me wrong, it's nice to for once not feel like your make up is running down your face and no deodorant in the world can precvent the inevitable, however, I am mentally not yet ready to let summer completely go! Even though all the stores around me are packing up on the winter merchandise...I still want to run around in dresses, wear sandals and enjoy weekends by the pool! So fingers crossed summer stays a little while longer...

Heute war der zumindest vorerst letzte superheiße Sommertag mit 34 Grad. Ab morgen sind dann kühlere Temperaturen angesagt was ich ja doch als nette Abwechslung empfinde! Trotzdem frag ich mich ob das nun bedeutet dass der Sommer offiziell vorbei ist und es nicht mehr richtig warm wird...denn obwohl ich es willkommen heiße dass kühlere Temperaturen mein Makeup ausnahmsweise nicht vom Gesicht rinnen lassen und mein Deo auch wirkt, so richtig bereit für das Sommerende bin ich noch nicht! Ich möchte auf jeden Fall noch ein paar Wochen meine Sommerkleidchen ausführen, Sandalen tragen und am "Strand" liegen. Also Daumen drücken dass der Herbst noch auf sich warten lässt :-)

Casual Friday

Casuality comes first on a Friday where the office was practically empty thanks to yesterday's public holiday and 80% of the people taking a vacation day today...these snakeprint pants from H&M sure were a good investment! And I just love my Michael Kors bag, it feels like Hermoine Granger's velvet bag that practically fits EVERYTHING in it :-D

Sporty Spice is back

Finally found the time again to do a short outfit update! Wore this on Monday for my first day at work after a week long sick leave...I kinda went for comfy as I knew there will be shitloads of work waiting for me and hundred unread emails didn't come unexpected ! Anyways, I am reeeeally busy this week catching up with some friends, finally trying to unbox all my stuff brought from Sweden, kinda "Spring cleaning" my apartment and preparing my Bday bash which will happen on Saturday. I am effin 24 next monday...like seriously, where is time going?! WHERE?!!!

Hab endlich mal wieder Zeit einen kleinen Outfitpost hier rein zu schmeißen. Dieses Outfit hatte ich am Montag an, meinem ersten Arbeitstag nach fast einer Woche krankheitsbedingter Abwesenheit. Ich wollte was eher einfaches und bequemes (ich liiiebe diese Schuhe!) da ich wusste dass der Tag anstrengend wird und allein die 100 Mails die ich von letzter Woche abarbeiten musste enttäuschten nicht! Wie auch immer, ich bin diese Woche superbeschäftigt, neben der vielen Arbeit treffe ich auch die eine oder andere Freundin und nebenher möchte ich endlich mal alle Boxen aus Schweden ausräumen, meine Wohnung ordentlich putzen und auch meine Geburtstagsparty für Samstag vorbereiten....ich werde nächsten Montag 24!! Ich kanns gar nicht glauben...wo geht dir Zeit nur hin?!!!

The story continues

Major sunburn on my back, so sleep at all, a cold from the airconditioning in the car, survived a several hour-long traffic jam....yet I had the most epic, phenomenal weekend of my life! This formula 1 race exceeded all my expectations, I almost cried at the track! I was so in the zone, I was even thinking leaving the fashion industry altogether and just finding my way into this industry :-D I just looove this sport so much, it almost pains me! And the end result yesterday was just as I liked it too. Gosh, I can still hear the super duper loud engines in my head...it was just mindblowing and it most definitely won't be the last race I've ever seen life, that's for sure! It was worth all the hassle...gosh, I am so happy!!!

Good Bye my Friend

Yesterday my better half - Nina - celebrated both her Bday and her going to New York next week for 3 months. It was one hell of a party and also very emotional at the end...I don't even know how I will survive those 3 months without her. I was so happy to finally have her back after a year in Sweden and now she's the one to leave..but I am superproud of her for doing this thing and I wish her all the best in the world for the coming 3 months! Nina, keep your SWAG up ;)

We're almost there...

...just tomorrow then another work-week has passed. Usually I would be all like "WTF..times moves to fast, make it stop!" but since I am about to fulfill a long-lived childhood dream on Sunday - watching a Formula 1 race LIVE - time can't pass quick enough hehe Though I am a bit concerned since the weather forecast basically predicts no clouds whatsoever and 40 degrees outside the sun. And since those races always start around lunch time I am already mentally prepared to get the sunburn of my life..all the sunblock in the world can't help here I guess!

Comeback!

 I finally got myself to do an "outfit" pic again. Last week my mom's been visiting me with a friend of hers and they occupied my bedroom so I didn't get the chance to do selfies in the morning in front of my closet mirror as I wouldn't want to wake them up plus it must seem kinda awkward to people who have nothing to do with fashion :-D Anyways, I have fantastic - in my book - absolutely mindblowing news: I am watching the Formula 1 GP in Hungary LIVE!!! I almost started crying and screaming when my best friend told me today that he won tickets and will take me day....talk about an amazeballs pre-bday gift! This will make this week so much easier as I have something major to look forward too. This has been on my bucket list forever and to finally be able to cross it off! MAGIC!!! Ok, now I need to go to bed...I am majorly tired today! But excited :-)

Heute gibts mal wieder ein "Outfit" nachdem mein Schlafzimmer samt Spiegel letzte Woche von meiner Mum und ihrer Freundin geblockt waren, da beide mir einen Besuch in Wien abstatteten. Und nachdem ich meine Bilder immer morgens schieße war mir das nicht möglich. Am Wochenende war dann mein kleiner Bruder bei mir und da war ich praktisch die ganze Zeit im Bikini, hätte also nicht wirklich was gebracht ;-) Ich hab ürbigens wahnsinnige tolle Neuigkeiten, zumindest für mich toll: Ich werde mir den Formel 1 GP von Ungarn live vor Ort anschauen. Ich bin heute fats ausgetickt und war kurz vorm Glücks-Heulkramp als mein bester Freund mir mitteilte dass er Karten gewonnen hat und mich mitnimmt. Wir sitzen direkt vor der Start/Zielgeraden. Für einen Formel 1 Fanatiker wie mich der schon seit Jahren ein Rennen live sehen will der absolute Wahnsinn...die Woche ist also schon mal gerettet und ich hab was worauf ich mich wirklich freue wie ein Honigkuchenpferd :-)

Fancy Friday

I really fancy fridays...u know, cuz of the start of the weekend...the most important part of the week and all! So I decided instead of going for a casual friday style to fancy it up...cuz I fancy fridays u know...get the word play :-D Anyways, today was actually a really nice and interesting day at work and I had an a-some lunch date with my friend Nana who came over to chat. Tomorrow I'll see my babies aka my siblings again as well as my mum before I head to a cool pool party/barbecue with my best friends. Freitage mag ich einfach...ihr wisst schon, weil da der wichtigste Teil der Woche beginnt: das Wochenende! Und zur "Feier des Tages" hab ich mich heute mal ein wenig in Schale geworfen. Für Juli war ich dann doch recht dick gekleidet nachdem es heute morgen eher verregnet und kühl war. Mein Arbeitstag war heute richtig spannend und ist wie im Flug vergangen. Zudem hatte ich in der Mittagspause Besuch von einer ganz lieben Freundin die ich leider schon viel zu lange nicht mehr gesehen hab...Mann, wenn man so mitten im Leben steht ist es manchmal echt schwer alle Freunde unter einen Hut zu bringen! Morgen seh ich dann meine Kleinen aka meine Geschwister ein letztes Mal bevor sie nach Deutschland zurückfahren. Ich vermiss sie jetzt schon. Am frühen Abend ist dann Pool Party und grillen angesagt. Darauf freu ich mich schon richtig!
